Lanny Evans is 71 years old, but you wouldn’t know it. She looks years younger and credits that to eating healthy and staying active – she loves swimming laps and doing yoga.

“I choose not to be an old person,” she said. “I’m happier that way.”

James P. Ziliak, PhD, is the Gatton Endowed Chair in Microeconomics, Director of Center for Poverty Research and Kentucky Federal Statistical Research Data Center, and a Core Faculty member of the Center for Health Equity Transformation. Dr. Ziliak along with Dr. Robert Moffitt have co-edited a special issue on Entitlement Reform in The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science. The volume contains eleven articles on the major social insurance and means-tested transfer programs in the U.S., along with two reflections and an Introduction to the volume.
"Patrick Kitzman, PT, PHD, associate dean for research in the UK College of Health Sciences, will receive the Outstanding Advocacy in Neurologic Physical Therapy Award from the American Physical Therapy Association at the APTA’s annual conference in 2020. This prestigious honor is given to those in the field of physical therapy who have made an extraordinary impact on advocacy for neurologic physical therapy. 'I am humbled to receive this award. But, when you do advocacy work, it’s a group effort,” he said. “It takes all of us to make a change.

Our own Dr. Subba Bondada has been elected to the rank of AAAS Fellow in the Section on Medical Sciences by the Council of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Luke H. Bradley, PhD, Chellgren Endowed Professor in the department of neuroscience, was recently selected by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education as a member of its newly-established Faculty Advisory Network.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 19, 2019) — University of Kentucky Professor of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences Nancy Webb, Ph.D., has been honored by the American Heart Association with the Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology (ATVB) Distinguished Achievement Award.

The ATVB Council engages scientists and clinicians working to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. This annual accolade recognizes a member who has made major contributions to the council and substantial professional contributions to the field.
