Sharoon Qaiser, MD, the Dr. Robert and Judith Baumann Distinguished Professor of Child Neurology and program director of the child neurology residency program, has been awarded the A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). 

This national award, presented at the AAN National Conference, celebrates educators who combine extensive medical expertise with innovative teaching techniques, mentorship, and a commitment to fostering an advanced learning environment in neurology.

A graduate of King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, Dr. Qaiser completed his residency in pediatrics and child neurology at the University of Kentucky, followed by a fellowship in pediatric headache at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, home to the world’s largest pediatric headache program. At the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute, Dr. Qaiser leads the Children & Young Adult Headache and Research Program, the region’s only multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to patients under 25. His work combines exceptional patient care with a dedication to educating future neurologists, embodying the qualities honored by the A.B. Baker Award.
