As interest in leadership development continues to grow across the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, the Office for Organizational Well-Being is expanding one of its signature programs.
This fall, the Office for Organizational Well-Being will welcome the third cohort of its Human-Centered Leadership Program (HCLP). They are also introducing a new Group Coaching Program as part of the HCLP, designed to give more leaders access to professional development while also fostering deeper peer connections and shared learning.
Facilitated by Rachel Daniels, Ph.D., director of organizational well-being, the programs combine evidence-based leadership assessments, individual and group coaching, and interactive learning sessions that help participants build stronger relationships, communicate more effectively and lead through change.
Since launching in 2025, HCLP has become a sought-after opportunity for physician, research and staff leaders across the college. With a competitive application process and growing interest each year, the program has graduated 28 leaders who have strengthened their leadership skills through a four-month experience focused on emotional intelligence, self-awareness and human-centered leadership.
The new Group Coaching Program is co-facilitated by Sarah Herman, organizational development specialist, and builds on that momentum. Designed as a smaller pilot group, it emphasizes guided reflection, peer coaching and collaborative problem-solving, creating additional opportunities for leaders to learn from one another while applying human-centered leadership principles to real-world challenges.
Together, the two programs reflect the college's continued investment in our people and partners, developing leaders who can navigate the increasingly complex environments of healthcare, research and higher education.
