Several CHET faculty, staff, and trainees recently attended the annual Men's Brain Health and Wellness event hosted by Omega Psi Phi fraternity.The event offered free health screenings, vaccines, and fitness education sessions to empower men’s wellness. Dr. Elizabeth Rhodus' Engaged Aging Lab provided information on cognitive wellbeing and resources for caregivers of those with dementia, Dr. Justin Moore's lab provided cancer screening information and research engagement opportunities, and Dr. Darlingtina Esiaka's Healthy Aging from Minority Perspectives Lab (HAMPLAB) provided opportunities to engage in cognitive health research targeted for older Black men.
The Markey Cancer Center, Sanders-Brown Center on Aging and the College of Medicine Department of Neuroscience also attended and provided valuable resources on cancer prevention, screening, and the importance of diversity in clinical trials.
