Biography

Dr. Venkata Rajesh Konjeti is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and serves as a transplant hepatologist and gastroenterologist at UK HealthCare. He completed fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, as well as advanced training in Transplant Hepatology, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Obesity Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Konjeti’s clinical practice focuses on the comprehensive care of patients with advanced liver disease, hepatocellular carcinoma, and those undergoing evaluation for liver transplantation. He is actively involved in multidisciplinary liver tumor boards and transplant selection committees and has led the development of innovative clinical programs, including a dedicated liver lesion and cancer clinic, and multidisciplinary initiatives in complex liver diseases.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Konjeti is an active clinical investigator with extensive authorship in peer‑reviewed journals and ongoing research in liver cancer, alcohol‑associated liver disease, transplant outcomes, and metabolic liver disease. He is deeply committed to medical education and serves as core faculty for gastroenterology and transplant hepatology fellowship programs, with a strong emphasis on mentoring trainees and integrating evidence‑based and emerging technologies into clinical practice.
