About Tochi Okwuosa

Dr. Tochi Okwuosa is the David J. Moliterno Endowed Professor of Cardiology, Senior Director of Cardio-Oncology, and Associate Chief of Cardiology at the University of Kentucky. She completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Chicago and previously served as Director of Cardio-Oncology at Rush University Medical Center. Her work focuses on cardio-oncology, cardiovascular disease prevention, health systems leadership, and advancing equitable care.

Dr. Okwuosa serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Heart Association and on multiple national advisory committees, including the AHA Strategically Focused Research Network in Cardio-Oncology. She played a leading role in establishing the AHA Cardio-Oncology Committee, serving as its inaugural Vice Chair, Chair, and Immediate Past Chair. Her professional service has also included prior service on the Chicago AHA Board of Directors and the Illinois ACC Board of Governors.

A dedicated mentor and educator, she has published more than 100 peer-reviewed works and has led community cardiovascular initiatives focused on improving access, prevention, and health equity. Dr. Okwuosa is internationally recognized for her contributions to cardio-oncology, cardiovascular prevention, systems innovation, and health equity.

Dr. Okwuosa is currently completing the Executive MSc in Global Healthcare Leadership at the University of Oxford, where her work focuses on health systems leadership and cross-sector partnerships to improve health access, workforce sustainability, community innovation, and population health outcomes.
