I chose University of Kentucky for my training because of the lovely people I met on my interview day. It was obvious from the start that the resident group was very close and enjoyed spending time together both inside and outside of the hospital. The camaraderie and inclusion of significant others was unlike any other place I had been. Additionally, early operative exposure was a major factor. Getting in the OR as an intern and early graduated autonomy gave me confidence I would finish my training at UK well trained in all subspecialties.
