Biography
Dr. Plentz has many years of expertise in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, diseases of the liver, bile duct and pancreas, as well as in general endoscopic and advanced diagnostics. He received his clinical training at the Hannover Medical School in Germany. Dr. Plentz worked as managing senior physician at the University Hospital in Tuebingen, Germany and served as Chief of the Gastroenterology Department at Klinikum Bremen Nord, Germany until 2023. His clinical and scientific areas of focus include the treatment of GI cancer, specifically liver carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma and pancreatic cancer. His scientific work was supported by different grants, including a German Research Foundation (DFG) fellowship as a postdoctoral researcher at the Harvard Medical School, Boston. Dr. Plentz is an active member of different international societies and serves as a reviewer for miscellaneous scientific journals. He participated as investigator and co-investigator in several national and international clinical trials / cancer studies. The results of his clinical scientific work have been published in numerous manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Plentz received various prizes and awards for his research work.
