Why did you choose the University of Kentucky?
Choosing UK Ophthalmology felt less like a decision I made and more like a community that welcomed me in. As a medical student at UK, I had the opportunity to witness firsthand the culture of mentorship, camaraderie, and genuine friendship that exists within the department.
What do you like about your program?
The UK Global Ophthalmology (UKGO) Track became one of the strongest draws to the program. Having discovered ophthalmology while abroad, I was immediately drawn to UKGO's unique mission and vision. As one of the first structured global ophthalmology tracks in the country, it offers a model of service that begins in Lexington and extends around the world, something I deeply value in my training/career.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies can be simplified to anything exercise or outdoors (better when combined). Hiking, cycling, weightlifting, yoga… the list goes on. I also enjoy baking sweet treats for sharing and traveling with my husband when I get the chance!
