Why did you choose the University of Kentucky?

I left my interview at the University of Kentucky feeling confident the program offered the ideal balance of rigorous surgical training and a genuinely supportive environment. The breadth of operative experience across subspecialties and the emphasis on early autonomy stood out immediately. Just as impactful was the culture - residents and faculty clearly respected and enjoyed working with one another, creating a collegial atmosphere I knew I wanted to be part of. It was clear to me that UK would not only challenge me to grow as a surgeon, but also support me as a person.

What are your hobbies?

Away from the hospital, I love spending time with family and friends - whether that’s tailgating for our favorite teams (The Buckeyes & Cleveland teams), trying new restaurants and breweries, traveling, or getting a little competitive with backyard games. I also enjoy staying active with weightlifting, pilates, running, walking, and hiking - usually with a little help from my favorite app, Peloton. When I’m winding down, you can find me reading or working through the NYT Crossword.
