Biography

I am the Director of Psychological Services and Director of Research at UK’s Orofacial Pain Clinic. As a clinician-scientist, I am devoted to understanding the psychological contributors to chronic orofacial pain and to helping people successfully manage their orofacial pain conditions. To date, my research has focused on the role of fatigue and poor sleep quality on chronic pain outcomes. Although that continues to be a research interest of mine, I am becoming increasingly more interested in integrating my clinical work and research to understand ways to optimize psychological interventions for patients with chronic orofacial pain. I am currently working on a K23 grant testing the feasibility of brief psychological interventions for chronic masticatory muscle pain disorders.
