About Darwin Conwell, MD, MSc, FACG

Dr. Darwin Conwell is a distinguished physician and academic leader who currently serves as the chair of the department of internal medicine at the University of KentuckyCollege of Medicine. Dr. Conwell's journey in medicine has been deeply influenced by his upbringing in Appalachia, and he has expressed a strong commitment to improving health care access and outcomes for rural populations. His research and clinical work have focused on chronic pancreatitis, diabetes, and pancreatic cancer, with a special interest in the interrelationship between these diseases. Dr. Conwell is also known for his dedication to mentoring the next generation of physicians and researchers.
