About Allie Herron, MD
Hi, I'm Allie! I grew up on a small farm in Southern Illinois and am the oldest of three siblings. Outside of medicine, you'll usually find me at a workout class, reading my next fantasy book, trying to work on my latest craft, or spending time with the people I love. I also have the cutest, sweetest doodle that comes with me everywhere!
Professional interests: Combined Hospitalist, Primary Care, Medical Education
Fun facts: I am a former Division I athlete, I played softball at Saint Louis University. And my sister played at SIU Edwardsville, so we got to play against each other in our college careers.
Favorite restaurants in Lexington: Bella Notte, Millstone, Pearls, East End Tap
Favorite thing about living in Lexington: It is such a good balance of a city with small town feels. Everyone I have met is so kind and excited to welcome you here! And so incredibly excited to go to my first horse race!
Your go-to weekend getaway: Home to Southern Illinois! Come with me anytime!
Dream non-medical career: Wedding and event planner, or a fitness studio owner and coach with a meal prep side hustle.

What do you like about your program?
My favorite part of life is spending it with the people I love, so finding a residency program that felt like a family was incredibly important to me. I felt that connection with the UK Med-Peds from the moment I interviewed. Since moving here, I've been welcomed with so much support, excitement, and kindness that feeling at home here was natural. I knew this was a place where I would be challenged, encouraged, and surrounded by people who truly care about one another.
What are your hobbies?
LOVE any social event with friends and family, long walks with my doodle, workout classes, trying new recipes, traveling, reading, and working on my sewing and embroidery skills.
