Learner Summary
Why did you choose the University of Kentucky?
Although I grew up in Florida, Kentucky has always felt like a second home. My parents met while they were in medical school at the University of Kentucky. Over the years, I have spent a lot of time visiting family in Lexington. I love that Lexington has so much to offer, from beautiful horse farms and local restaurants to the energy that comes with being a college town. Choosing UK felt like coming full circle. It gave me the opportunity to train at an outstanding program while becoming part of a place that has meant so much to me. My away rotation here made it clear that it was the right fit for me.
What do you like about your program?
One of my favorite things about the program is the culture. The residents and faculty are genuinely supportive, and there is a strong sense of teamwork and collegiality. It's a place where I feel challenged to grow while also knowing I have a great support system around me.
What are your hobbies?
Outside of residency, I enjoy reading, especially fantasy and historical fiction. I also love hiking, visiting national parks, and traveling.
