This program continues the examination of an ongoing and crucial issue for healthcare providers and patients, reducing unnecessary utilization. Decreasing unnecessary utilization is not only important for cost-containment but also for patient safety, and it is a success factor for organizations moving into a value-based reimbursement environment. "Webcast #3: Choosing Wisely" highlights the recommendations of the national Choosing Wisely Initiative led by the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation in partnership with Consumer Reports, and how these recommendations encourage shared decision-making between clinicians and patients.
