The University of Kentucky Department of Urology is proud to announce the creation of the J. William McRoberts Endowed Distinguished Professorship in Pediatric Urology. This fund honors Dr. J. William “Bill” McRoberts, who led the division as chair from 1972 to 1997 and shaped the training of countless urologists through his mentorship, leadership, and vision.

The McRoberts Professorship will ensure that children and families across Kentucky have access to world-class pediatric urology care, while also supporting innovative research and training the next generation of physicians.

“This professorship is a fitting tribute to Dr. McRoberts’ extraordinary legacy,” said Stephen Strup, MD, James F. Glenn Professor and Chairman of Urology. “It will allow us to continue the work he championed — combining compassionate care with excellence in education and discovery.”

Dr. Strup recently sat down with Dr. McRoberts to talk about his tenure at UK, and why it meant so much to him to invest time and energy into others. You can watch that full interview here
