A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the University of Kentucky to study the molecular mechanisms of metabolic disorders and atherosclerosis.  Our laboratory mainly focuses on the role of NF-kB (J Exp Med, 2014; Arterioscler Thromb Vasc Biol, 2012) and nuclear receptor PXR (Environ Health Perspect, 2012; Mol Pharmacol, 2013; JAHA 2014; Mol Endocrinol, 2015) in the pathogenesis of obesity and cardiovascular disease.  More details can be found at the following webpage: http://pharmns.med.uky.edu/users/czh229

Small laboratory animal models, molecular biology and biochemistry techniques are the main research approaches for these studies. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or related field, and strong background in cell culture, biochemical and molecular biology techniques and small animal model systems. Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team is essential. Applicants should send a CV, a brief research statement, and the names/contact information of three people who could provide letters of reference to Dr. Changcheng Zhou via email: c.zhou@uky.edu
