Physiology Alumnus Recognized by JACC

The Department of Physiology would like to congratulate alumni Dr. Cheavar Blair (class of 2017) and his mentor Dr. Ken Campbell. 

Dr. Blair has been selected to receive the 2020 Young Author Achievement Award, which will be awarded at the 2021 American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions in Chicago, Illinois. This award is specifically related to his manuscript, "Heart Failure in Humans Reduces Contractile Force in Myocardium From Both Ventricles," which was published in the August 2020 issue of JACC: Basic to Translational Science.

The manuscript was the main paper in the dissertation for which Dr. Blair earned his doctoral degree from the Department of Physiology.
