In an effort to be fair to all, NIH has been consistently applying its standards for application compliance.  This consistency means that some applications recently have been rejected due to non-compliance.  Issues that can lead NIH to reject an application include but are no limited to:

    • Applications containing one or more biosketches that do not conform to the required format (NOT-OD-15-032).
    • Applications that do not conform to the page limit requirements because inappropriate materials have been included in other parts of the application (NOT-OD-11-080).
    • Applications submitted as new but containing elements of a resubmission or renewal application (NOT-OD-15-059).
    • Applications submitted after 5 PM local (applicant organization) time on the application due date  (NOT-OD-15-039).

If an application is rejected due to non-complaince, a rejection letter will be placed in the eRA Commons Status page for that application and the PI and appropriate University officials will be notified by email.
