Dr. Vincent Sorrell calls it a "labor of love" and Amazon.com calls it "invaluable." A University of Kentucky professor of medicine and the Anthony N. DeMaria Chair of Cardiovascular Imaging at the Gill Heart Institute, Sorrell collated more than two decades of echocardiography experience into a new book, titled "Questions, Tricks, and Tips for the Echocardiography Boards." The book will be available for purchase at several online outlets. "Questions, Tricks, and Tips for the Echocardiography Boards" is a study guide aimed at improving test-taking skills and sharpening knowledge by mimicking the style of the Examination of Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography (ASCeXAM). It includes more than 700 questions written by doctors who have passed the exam and study tips from former fellows and exam takers. "It took me essentially three years to complete," Sorrell said. "I was able to work with many, many current and former fellows and faculty colleagues, and I created something that is not duplicated anywhere in current literature." An interactive eBook edition is included with an online purchase of a printed copy. The eBook contains more than 350 video clips, searching and highlighting tools, quick reference tabbing, and the ability to take and share notes with friends and colleagues.
