The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is committed to strengthening our faculty support and addressing faculty needs for personal and professional growth. To further this goal, the college has established a leadership role focused on areas pertaining to faculty in basic science departments.
Trevor Creamer, PhD, will serve as the associate dean for faculty affairs – basic sciences. He will be the primary contact in the Office of Faculty Affairs and Development for basic science faculty affairs including appointment, promotion, and tenure processes; distribution of effort; and faculty performance evaluations.
Dr. Creamer will collaborate with leaders within the Office of the Dean, as well as external partners to enhance our faculty’s academic environment.
“Dr. Creamer brings significant expertise in the area of faculty affairs, through many of his previous roles including, most recently, his role as interim chair of molecular and cellular biochemistry,” said Nicole McCoin, MD, vice dean for faculty affairs and development. “Our mission is to serve and support our faculty, and we are fortunate to welcome Dr. Creamer to our growing team.”
With nearly 30 years of experience as an educator, Dr. Creamer has been a valued member of the UK College of Medicine Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry faculty since 1997, achieving full professorship in 2013. He has directed graduate studies in his department since 2016 and stepped in as acting chair in 2022.
Dr. Creamer earned his Bachelor of Science and PhD at the University of Western Australia. He completed postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Washington University at St. Louis, and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
