Andrea Tucker, M.D., associate professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology, recently completed the Safety, Quality, Informatics and Leadership (SQIL) program at Harvard Medical School.

SQIL is an intensive, yearlong, case-based program designed for practicing clinicians and healthcare leaders looking to translate quality improvement theory into real-world results. The curriculum covers core QI methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma and the Model for Improvement, alongside training in patient safety science, systems thinking and change management. Participants work through real healthcare case studies, learning to design and lead improvement initiatives, analyze data to drive decision-making and build the leadership skills needed to align teams around a shared vision for better patient outcomes.

Tucker’s participation in the program reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to professional development and excellence in patient care.
