Established in 2018 by the Gold Humanism Honor Society, Thank a Resident and Fellow Day was created to highlight the invaluable contributions of trainees and to encourage expressions of appreciation. What began as an initiative among medical students has since expanded to hundreds of programs across the country. Thank a Resident and Fellow Day 2025 was celebrated last Friday, Feb. 28.
We recognize the dedication and hard work of residents and fellows at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and beyond. We want to shine a light on our nearly 1,000 graduate medical trainees across the Commonwealth who take on complex cases, mentor future health care professionals, and push the boundaries of medical knowledge, all while balancing the immense demands of training.
If you would like to express your appreciation for our outstanding residents and fellows, you can send a digital message anytime through UK HealthCare's Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) program.
