Jun 12, 2020 - Unfortunately, due to the COVID19 outbreak, we had to hold our fellowship graduation virtually. It was a lot of work to organize, but the final result was marvelous. It still cannot replace gathering in person, but may be we can try to do it next year seeing every graduating general cardiology fellow is doing a sub-specialty fellowship next year.

A great gathering of fellows, faculty, staff, families, and friends at our 2020 Fellowship Graduation Zoom Party.

Bekah Sipes, PharmD won the Michael Spain Award, voted by fellows on staff that has the most positive impact on the fellowship.

Dr. Khaled Ziada was awarded the Borys Surawicz Award, a distinguished teacher as well as mentor award voted by fellows to the faculty.

Dr. Karam Ayoub (CV 2020) was awarded the Teresa Hignite Award.  This award is chosen by fellows and faculty to the fellow who maintains a positive attitude throughout the year.

Dr. Talal Alnabelsi (CV 2020) won the David J Moliterno Award, for the fellow who demonstrates the most promise in a successful academic career.

Dr. Vedant Gupta (CV 2016, ACI 2017) won the Program Director Award, for his many contributions to the fellowship.

Dr. Julie Shelton (CV 2020) was presented the Chief's chair for her role as chief fellow.

Each graduating fellow received a shadow box containing their white coat with messages and signatures from the faculty.  Dr. Gbolahan Ogunayo (CV 2019, ICC 2020) celebrated the night with his family after performing an intervention during the beginning of the program.

We congratulate our graduating class of 2020!

There was a little after party with Dr. Gbolahan Ogunbayo (CV 2019, ICC 2020) and his family.  Some of whom were dialing in from Nigeria!  If it wasn't for COVID, this may not have happened.  It was such a joyful, touching event!
