Please join us Friday, January 9, for Grand Rounds, presented by Dr. Kristy Deep! This week, we’ll look at both the history of social contagion and more recent examples where illness “spreads” among social groups with no identifiable organic cause.
After this session, participants will be able to:
- Define mass sociogenic/psychogenic illness
- Outline historical "outbreaks" in the context of the time in which they occur
- Discuss ways in which these events continue to manifest themselves in modern medicine
