Additional Event Information
This townhall will explore findings from NIH-funded research on caregiving for persons with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias in rural communities. Caregiver needs, clinical trial recruitment, and interventional options will be discussed. Attendees can expect to learn at least three approaches to engage and/or support caregivers in rural communities. Presented by Dr. Elizabeth Rhodus, PhD, MS, OTR/L and David A. Gross, MPA. David's late grandmother spent her final years at home battling late-stage dementia, cared for by her family, including David's mother. This experience inspired David to participate in three research projects on dementia and caregiving, making him a strong advocate for aging in place.
