With UK being my home program, I was able to spend a lot of time working with the department as a medical student. The thing that always stood out to me was the camaraderie within the department. UK fosters a great learning environment with faculty who really care about the residents and prioritize resident education, and the residents in the program all really look out for each other. Not only that, but I felt that UK offered a surgical experience that was second-to-none! Residents leave this program well equipped for whatever they hope to do, whether that is practice or fellowship. I knew that by joining this department I would be joining a team of people who would challenge me to be my best and support me on the journey. I dont think I could ask for much more than that!
