Application for Degree:

IMPORTANT: In order to graduate, you must apply for your degree. Go to your MyUK account and look for Degree Audit. It will have a page that says Application for Degree. This must be done before March 1, 2023. Please ask your campus Registrar’s office if you have questions or issues (Lexington – Brendan McCarthy, Bowling Green – Sarah Inman, Northern Kentucky – Brendan McCarthy).  We will remind you again but if you do not apply for your degree by the deadline you will not graduate in May and will not be able to start residency on time.

Save-the-Date- Commencement for the Class of 2023 Saturday, May 13, 2023 -

Commencement for the Class of 2023 will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. (ET), at Singletary Center for the Arts. Each student will be allocated six guest tickets (graduates do not need tickets). The event will be live-streamed for family and friends unable to attend in person.

Note: Graduation tickets will be emailed to you from the Singletary Center Ticket Office closer to the event date. If you won’t use all six tickets, we’ll have you email a screenshot or give a printed version of the ticket(s) to your student affairs officer to reallocate to other students that request more tickets. Students who would like to request more tickets may do so via the graduation program and ceremony information link below.  For reallocated tickets, we will count all tickets available and then distribute those tickets evenly for students that would like to invite more guests. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Most students are hooded by an Assistant or Associate Dean from their local campus.  However, students who have a significant other, close family member, or mentor who is a physician (MD or DO) and planning to attend Graduation may request for that physician to hood them.  Only physicians may hood at Graduation. If you have a significant other or close family member that is an MD or DO that you would like to hood you, you have the option to share that on the Graduation program and ceremony survey which is linked below. If you have a UK faculty mentor that you would like to hood you, talk with your mentor about hooding you and make sure that they RSVP on the faculty sign-up* form by April 21. You will also need to share your requested faculty mentor on the Graduation program and ceremony survey which is linked below. Students are allowed to request only one significant other, close family member, or mentor who is a physician (MD or DO) and planning to attend Graduation to hood them. Physicians that are hooding at Graduation will wear regalia and be a part of the formal ceremony including sitting with the faculty, so please ensure that your family member is agreeable to doing this before signing them up.

* The faculty invitation to Graduation, which includes the sign-up form, will be sent to faculty by Acting Dean Griffith in mid-February.
