Students from all four years of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine – Lexington Campus recently took time to connect with aspiring physicians through UK Medicats, an undergraduate, student-run organization for UK students interested in pursuing careers in medicine.
During a lively panel discussion, medical students Grace McDougal, Gabriela Da Silva, Cannon LaFont, Mayah Walker, Arsh Ansari, Miles DeBerge, Anas Gondal, Amunet Jacobs, Matthew Bernard, Emilee Jackson, and Jordyn Hurley shared honest insights about their paths to medical school, daily life as students, and lessons learned along the way.
The conversation provided undergraduate attendees with an authentic glimpse into what it means to prepare for a career in medicine — emphasizing the importance of mentorship, perseverance, and community. Events like these reflect how UK students are building the future of medicine together, one shared story at a time.
