CHET primary faculty member, Elizabeth Rhodus, PhD, MS, OTR/L, was appointed to the Kentucky Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Advisory Council through an executive order issued by Governor Beshear on October 3, 2023. This council, housed within the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, consists of fifteen appointed individuals critically contributing to state-level guidance to support Kentuckians impacted by Alzheimer’s and related diseases (ADRD). These initiatives consist of identifying specific goals for the Cabinet, evaluating outcomes, and supplying education that connects affected families with needed resources, programs, and information. Dr. Rhodus will serve in a two-year appointment as the representative for research on ADRD and other experiences of dementia, crucially contributing to the advancement of evidence-based approaches for the council efforts.
