Dr. Gary Ward is a former PLoS Board Chairman; PLoS Biology Editorial Board, charter member; Professor of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics, University of Vermont, Larner College of Medicine. Sponsored by OBE and The Department of Microbiology. Dr. Ward has a strong interest in scientific communication and publication practices. He chaired the NIH’s PubMed Central National Advisory Committee from 2009-2011 and the Board of Directors of the Public Library of Science (PLOS) from 2011-2019.
