Pat Heist, PhD is a graduate of the College of Agriculture at UK where he earned his PhD in Plant Pathology. Dr. Heist was once a professor of Medical Microbiology University of Pikeville before he co-founded Ferm Solutions, Inc. and then later Wilderness Trail Distillery.

Michael Orr performed his graduate training with Dr. John Gensel, focusing on rodent models of spinal cord injury. He graduated with his PhD in Physiology in 2021, and now works as a Healthcare Research Project Manager in the Vanderbilt Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (VICTR). In his current role, Michael collaboratively designs and implements clinical trials, ranging from small single site pilot trials to large international trials, with a focus on COVID-19 and drug repurposing.
