About the Clinical Research Support Office (CRSO)

The Clinical Research Support Office (CRSO) supports investigators and clinical research study teams in departments, centers, and colleges across campus to conduct clinical research. The office aims to reduce administrative burdens, enhance compliance, and help remove barriers to enable efficiency, internal/external collaboration, cost recovery, and growth of clinical trials at the university. The CRSO is funded by the College of Medicine, UK Healthcare and the Office of the Vice President for Research. It offers support for the OnCore clinical trial management system, billing integrity and coverage analysis, as well as finance and regulatory assistance in partnership with the CCTS.

Message from the Director

The University of Kentucky CRSO was created to assist investigators leading clinical trials and their clinical research study teams to better and more efficiently perform their work. The CRSO also seeks to increase patient access to clinical research on health conditions that affect Kentuckians the most.

As such, our team offers a range of services to support many aspects of clinical research projects, including coverage analysis, financial management, regulatory support, participant recruitment and access to clinical trial management software. We appreciate the opportunity to work with research teams to meet their needs.

The CRSO would not exist without the generous support of UK HealthCare, the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, the University of Kentucky Center for Clinical and Translational Science and the University of Kentucky Office of the Vice President for Research. We thank each of these partners for their investment in the CRSO venture.

William W. Stoops, PhD
Director, University of Kentucky CRSO
